Welcome to the photo website on SurajKund Mela 2010: The Popular Indian Crafts Fair
Scroll down and read a few lines and see some teaser photos before surfing this site. 🙂
After my maiden visit to the SurajKund Mela (14 February 2010), I made this site in some 4 hours for fun and documentation. This website has close to 200 photos from the 24th SurajKund Crafts fair, 2010.
These photos also give you a glimpse of the Indian life, Indian culture, Indian people, Indian life style, Indian food, Indian way of life apart from the Indian handicrafts. This is a personal non-profit endeavour in common good. 🙂
Thanks to lack of time I have put all craft stalls’ photos in three sections and not categorized them according to various crafts like glassware, metal, wood work, paintings, cane work, home decorations etc. I was there from about 12 pm to 4 pm and shot more than 450 photos as I visited more than 90 per cent of the stalls and venues in the fair. 🙂
Do visit all my other blogs such as the JNU Holi and the Delhi Zoo. Feel free to leave a comment on any page. You are free to share this website or the images or republish them for non-commercial purposes as long as you are attributing them to me. 🙂
Feel free to link to this site (use the alt tag ‘surajkund mela’). 🙂
The trip was a part of JNU students’ excursion to the fair. You will therefore also find a page on that in the header.
Enjoy and do tell your friends about it. 🙂 Hope you like what you see.
The SurajKund Crafts Mela “celebrates the finest handloom and handicraft traditions of the country. It is a fortnight long event that embodies the spirit that runs through the people of India and its rich culture. It is held in the month of February from 1st-15th. ” Read more about it here. You can also see some more pics of the fair by Indian Homemaker here.
